ABOUT MAP PROJECT 2021
The word ‘map’ has two meanings:
One’s footprints of life
And one’s identity.
The MAP Project connects
‘Languages’ and ‘Places where one belongs to’
Gong-won has been searching for the meaning of ‘personal history’ and found an answer.
She made an artistic organization called MAP, which is now joined by many artists from various backgrounds and professions.
This artistic group tries to dive into human life and surroundings and tries to find a deeper meaning in them.
We THINK.
What is the best way for us
to be connected?
The MAP Project works with Sukabumi Creation Hub, whose artists are participants of this project.
Map Project Zoom meetings

---|---|---|
Artists shared their works and provided feedback to each other through video calls.
Although they could not see each other in person, artists had a thorough discussion on the concept of 'connectivity and ways to develop the MAP Project.
Throughout the meetings, the biggest subject had been ‘sustainability’. We tried to maintain our artistic skills and abilities despite the pandemic. Also, we wanted ourselves to feel that “we are alive and moving” by keeping ourselves connected to one another.
